The question is no longer whether money moves on-chain. It is whose rules, reserves and controls move with it.
1. MiCA's next fault lines are already visible.
The EBA wants a closer look at multi-issuer stablecoins, reserve deposits, crypto lending and DeFi access. EU central banks have also challenged the current bank-deposit rule for large stablecoin issuers. These are proposals for a review, not changes to the law. If your product touches stablecoins or lending, map the structure before the rules shift.

2. Settlement is moving inside regulated money.
The Eurosystem's Pontes offers central-bank-money settlement for tokenised transactions. UK banks completed interbank tokenised-deposit transactions, while Canada's Big Six are testing a shared CAD tokenised-deposit system. Different models, same control question: who owns finality, reconciliation and the money when systems meet?

3. US stablecoin supervision gets specific.
The Federal Reserve has proposed full backing with eligible liquid assets, capital and risk standards, custody rules and an application route for Board-supervised banks seeking to issue payment stablecoins. The consultation closes 60 days after Federal Register publication. Issuers and banking partners now have something concrete to test their operating model against.

4. A valid wallet control is not the same as a resilient exchange.
Bitget says about $351.6m was affected in a hot-wallet incident. It says cold wallets and customer funds are safe under its protection fund; those are Bitget's claims while its investigation continues. For counterparties, the immediate questions are wallet exposure, withdrawal access, incident disclosure and the evidence behind any assurance.

5. Old legal boundaries still bite new markets.
New York's attorney general sued Polymarket US, alleging unlicensed sports gambling. The claims have not been decided by a court. Federal derivatives oversight does not, by itself, settle every state-law question for prediction markets.

The thread through the week: tokenisation is getting real infrastructure. Control ownership must get just as real.
